Take a Hike

Take a Hike

What a fun way to bring up a phrase, “Take a Hike,” which is used for us to send someone on his or her way. I would like to use this phrase to send you on your way, which means you’re opening up into a different way of being.

Today, I took a hike. I took a “me” day, and it turned out to be exactly what the doctor ordered, and the doctor is me. Thus, on the prescription pad, I wrote, “Tami take a hike today and notice all that is around you.” And so I did.

Sometimes it's good to be by yourself….

I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to go with me, but he had some other things he wanted to focus on. And so following the doctor’s orders, I packed my back pack with snacks and drinks, and drove to a hiking trail, which I had wanted to experience.

This hiking trail is in the Olympic National Forest, which is about 20 minutes from my house. Having said this, I was a little frightened with thoughts that brought up some self-imposed phantoms of creation, e.g. wild animals. Thus, as I’m opening up to new states of consciousness, I ask myself a question when I’m contemplating fear. I know that I create my own reality and will conjure up whatever images I focus on. So to create a new motion picture in my life movie, I ask, “What do you know?” This allows me to create a different scene as I play the old switcharoo in thinking and feeling differently.

And I know that everything in my experience is enlivened consciousness…..

When I arrived at the park ranger station and paid my entrance fee, I asked the park ranger what the trail would be like for me, and her response was, “You will have a blast!” Hearing this instantly put me at ease for this is exactly what I wanted to experience.

Donning my backpack and my new way of thinking and feeling allowed the trail to open up into harmonic sounds from all the trees, the sacred ground, the birds singing, and especially the rapids from the water. I was the only person on the trail for about 45 minutes, and in this time frame, I experienced a silent reverence for all there is. And I couldn’t have written a better prescription as I began to laugh and dance with everything.

The forest was rolling out the red carpet and I was present in this majestic honoring. I listened to me walk on the ground, which I could actually feel reverberate the sound from my being. I listened to the trees, the wind across my face, and my most favorite was the rapids. This trail had the view of the rapids all along the way, and I was in such a state of awe!

I absolutely love water, and this opportunity to have a view of water every step of the way just made me almost wet my pants J. At lunch time, I hiked down to the water’s edge at my private picnic spot. Listening to the water, and then looking up at the mountain range, I began to cry with the heart-felt feelings of gratitude for all there is.

This “Take a Hike” prescription turned out to be more than I could have imagined. It makes me think that I will write more prescriptions like this. Since I’m the doctor, I know what I need in every moment.

We always know what we need. We just need to help ourselves flip the switch if something is causing us anything different than what our Source Energy feels. If I would have given into this something different with the self-imposed phantom of “wild animals,” I would have missed out on this great experience.

Thus, calm your fears with a brief question: “What do you know? How can I comfort you? What do you need? Do you need a good spanking :? ” You have all the answers within you, and allowing this dialogue will create the red carpet effect.

Today, write yourself a prescription, and “Take a Hike“…..
