So how do you beat the heat? Look how you can include a friend and make it more fun….

Ways to Beat the Heat

Well, I live in the Pacific Northwest, and today is July 28, 2009, and we are experiencing record temperatures. What does this mean exactly?

We don’t have air conditioning because we don’t need it. Having said this, when we experience temperatures in the high 90’s and close to 100, we have to think of creative ways to cool ourselves down so we don’t bite anyone’s head off.

Do you remember Saturday Night Live and the segment called, “Simmer Down Now.” That’s what I’m talking ‘bout. It’s time to simmer down now.

As a fun coach, I love to open up into that sense of play, and only come from that state of being. And I teach others to do the same.

Now, you might have heard me describe that we already come born with imagination, fun, play, laughter and creativity. Thus, everything we need is already within us. Yet, we may have buried these innate elements, and now we just pull them out of our closet, and come out so to speak, and play.

Think of all the things you did as a kid to beat the heat. I remember running through the sprinklers, playing in irrigation ditches, sucking on popsicles, sliding on slip-n-slides, swimming in pools, water balloon fights. We created all sorts of things to simmer down, and we did them for hours.

Now, just do the same things we did as kids. Think creatively and you’ll be able to beat the heat. Get those creative juices flowin’ and be “cool!”

Go on and wet yourself!
